Congratz!!

How are you doing? I remember when I got my approval. I was scared to death, happy as hell and everything in the middle.

I am very happy that I received my approval for my surgery but
am alittle discouraged that my doctor hasn't called to schedule
it. My doctor also would like to see my lose 10 lbs. before my
surgery. That's got me alittle worried too. I haven't gained
any weight but losing weight beforehand just doesn't make sense
to me. Did anyone else have to lose weight before the surgery?

Yes, I had a strict pre-op diet for lightening of the liver. Very Important to a sucessful surgery and easier recovery. And I'm not even a medical professional, just what I remember. Check with your Dr.'s office if you have any questions about any instructions.

Thanks for the info on the pre-surgical diet. I heard from my
doctor yesterday and I am scheduled for my surgery on July 14th
in Chico. I'm very excited and nervous too. Now I need to get
busy buying all my vitamins and protein shakes.

Ohhh yes!

I had a wonderful time on my pre-op diet (seriously!)! I was on it for 3 weeks, lost 25lbs or something, can't remember. But for me it was awesome. It was a strict diet that was all listed out. Eat this for breakfast, that for lunch, one of these for dinner.
I absolutely love that set up Laughing Maybe it's because it took the thinking away. I didn't have to think about food.... at all! I knew what I was having next, I knew when I was having it and if my stomach rumbled or I had an urge... I just drank more water. It worked well for me.

Less eating, more water and more walking. That's what my pre-op diet did for me. (and lowered my A1C from 10.9 to 7.0) affraid
