Everyone knows my troubles with snacking.

Let me provide the update on this part of my jounrney....

To make it simple, it's pretty easy to figure out. Exercise dropped, snacking was up (read: caloric intake up). So what do you get? About 13lbs in 3 months.
Back to the grind.

On a good note, I've not had a granola in almost 2 weeks.
Today I changed switched to a 4 meal a day plan. This isn't following the manual in "the program". But I have to do what I need to do. Eating breakfast @ 5am and then not eating lunch for 7 hours just doesn't cut it. so I'm sticking a protein only meal in at 10am-ish (today I just used a protein shake). Another around 2ish and then ate dinner at 6ish.

I think you are okay with the 4 meals a day. Nichols told me at
my last visit that I could do it if needed as long as I kept to
the protein base. If it keeps you from snacking I think it's a
better idea!

and things are going well with it.

I just see myself splitting my lunch into two smaller meals. It also seems to help with my riding in the afternoon. My normal type doc also reinforced me eating more smaller meals, over just 3. (I'm kinda ducking because I know Laura and Joanne have worked with us to do 3 meals a day, etc)

Anyway.. seems to be working. granola is out of the picture. my 2nd lunch is usually the remainder of the protein I brought to work, or I use some JackLinks jerky (2oz peppered.. 120 calories, 22g protein). I got so much more energy on my rides home =)
Can't wait to try it on my new bicycle! Woo! Smile

I think you are doing a great thing. I need to get off of the
snacking myself!! Working in an office with a constant supply
of snacks and such makes it hard. Not a good excuse, but still Embarassed
I have to get myself back on track and stop eating badly. I don't
need to go back down the road I just came from.

Planning on biking to work next week? Very Happy

So I dusted off the scale and weighed about a dozen times this weekend (to see an average).

It says I'm down 10 from what the doctor's said. So either I'm working the right direction or my scale is horribly uncalibrated.
I think it's the first pirat
